Jennifer & John's Wedding

Jennifer & John were married at the fantastic Walworth Castle in August. It's a superb venue, one which I hadn't photographed a wedding at previously, but that's never an issue as I always visit beforehand to familiarise myself with the layout and grounds. Also, as a documentary wedding photographer, my style is all about photographing what happens on the day, and so it's all about the people.

There was certainly plenty to photograph, with entertainment from magician Chris Cross, and Pete Brown sang during the wedding breakfast.

Jenn & John chose one of my album packages, which include a pre-wedding photoshoot. It was great to get to know them both a little more before the big day, and also works as a good ice breaker so the photos aren't something that they're nervous about on the wedding day.

Jenn & John very kindly answered these questions for the blog:

Wedding date - 16th August 2014

Venue - Walworth Castle

Dress - My dress was from Amore Brides in Sunderland and is by Mark Lesley.

Accessories - The jewellery is Jon Richard at Debenhams and the shoes are from BHS.

Suits - Men's suits are from Slaters in Newcastle.

Which of your suppliers would you recommend? - Really hard to name just one so we narrowed it to three. We recommend Simon Hudspeth Photography, Daisy Jack Cakes in Washington and Walworth Castle as a venue.

Honeymoon - Our honeymoon was in Cancun-Mexico at Secret Silversands Resort and Spa.

Favourite memory from the day - Our favourite part of the wedding was being able to see all of our friends and family together celebrating.

Advice to other couples - Our best advice is to make sure you take as much in on the day as it goes by so quickly. We would also say to go to as many wedding fairs as possible and to also see as many venues as you can to make sure you've found the right one for you.
