Anna & Mark's Wedding

Anna & Mark were married at St. Peter & Paul's RC Church in South Shields and then we went on to Horton Grange near Ponteland for the reception. Both were great venues, and the fine weather meant we were able to make the most of the grounds at Horton Grange. It's an exclusive use venue and the day had a really relaxed feel.

Anna had put a lot of effort into personalising their day, with the table decorations and various other bits and pieces around the venue. They'd also booked Marryokes - I'll admit not something I'd heard of previously, but would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a different twist on a wedding video!

Anna & Mark very kindly answered these questions for the blog:

Wedding date - 26th April 2014

Venue - St. Peter & Paul's RC Church, South Shields & Horton Grange, Ponteland

Dress - My dress was Uri by Pronovias, I got it from Mia Sposa in Newcastle.

Accessories - Jewellery was from Yarwood-White and my shoes were from Harriet Wilde.

Suits - Greenwoods

Which of your suppliers would you recommend? - We loved the guys from Marryokes although we haven't seen the video yet, all our guests were talking about it and they added a buzz to the day.
The flowers from Jan Watters Florist were beautiful, especially since we know nothing at all about flowers, so could only give a very rough idea of what we wanted.
Dawn from The Master Cakesmith did an amazing job with the cake, not only did it look great, but it was delicious too!
And everyone commented on how great the band, Grand Central were, the dance floor was full all night.
Overall, I think we were very lucky with our suppliers they all did a great job.

Honeymoon - We went to a little log cabin in France for a few days, and will have our 'real' honeymoon next year.

Favourite memory from the day - Anna: Aargh! It's so hard to choose! The journey between the church and Horton Grange was really nice, just the two of us sharing our stories of the morning. It was lovely to have that time alone together as I don't think we got another chance all day. Another standout moment was halfway down the aisle, my brother, Pete said 'I thought we were meant to walk slowly', I laughed the rest of the way down, then asked Mark if we could start again because I'd messed it up! :-/

Mark: My favourite moment was the Father of the Bride and Best-man speeches, John (Anna's brother) did an amazing heart felt speech, he made me realise how much of a part of the family I already was. Wayne's best man speech had the whole room laughing, and the picture he gave out was as bad for him as me!

Advice to other couples - Anna: Don't renovate a house at the same time! And also try not to get so excited that you can't sleep the night before- it's a very long day!

Mark: Don't make your own invites!! We decided to get invites just how we wanted them that we would make them and they turned out great, but printing them perfectly aligned and on high quality thick card is hard and very time consuming, it worth the cost to get them made for you. Oh and also don't plan a wedding and rebuild your house at the same time!!
