Louise & Martin were married in July at St. Mary's RC Church, Newton Aycliffe with their reception at the fantastic Jersey Farm Hotel near Barnard Castle. Myself and Alison met with Louise & Martin for their pre-wedding photoshoot in May, and really enjoyed getting to know them both. It's a great ice breaker and means that on the day everything's that bit more relaxed too.
Jersey Farm is a superb venue with so much character both inside and out, with great scope for the photos without having to wander too far. It's also one of the few venues I've come across that allows your guests to choose their meal on the day..... worth bearing in mind if that's something you'd like to offer your guests.
Louise very kindly answered these questions for the blog:
Wedding date - 13th July 2013
Venue - St. Mary's RC Church, Newton Aycliffe & Jersey Farm Country Hotel, Barnard Castle
Dress - My dress was a Ronald Joyce from the Northallerton Wedding Dress Outlet
Accessories - My jewellery was Jon Richard at Debenhams and I also wore a Pandora bracelet given to me as a gift from Martin! My shoes were handmade by me :)
Suits - The mens suits were from Young's at Debenhams.
Which of your suppliers would you recommend? - We would recommend our cake supplier. Julia at Cakealicious made such a beautiful cake and was wonderful to work with.
Honeymoon - We were lucky enough to be given a week in a private villa for our honey
moon, this was in Crete. Perfect relaxation after the wedding.
Favourite memory from the day - My favourite memory from the day was when Martin put his ring on my finger instead of mine! That was hilarious.
Advice to other couples - One piece of advice would be to stay organised but don't stress. It
doesn't help the situation and you get to enjoy each second by staying
calm.
