Karen & Chris were married at the brilliant Hallgarth Manor, a venue close to Durham which I've photographed weddings at many times before. The gardens are superb and great for kids to run around in, and of course for adults to relax!
Karen & Chris had their whole wedding day in the Cathedral Suite, and we were relatively lucky with the weather as it didn't rain until later on in the day - August weddings never guarantee sunshine anymore unfortunately.... They'd put a great deal of thought into the day, with extras including garden games, a cheese cake as a snack between the meal and evening reception, flip flops for the ladies, etc etc :)

Karen very kindly answered these questions for the blog:
Wedding date - 17th August 2013
Venue - Hallgarth Manor, Durham
Dress - My dress is a Mori Lee dress. I bought it from Brides Dream in
Walkergate. They are all so lovely, friendly and welcoming there. We
also got my bridesmaids dress from there too.
Accessories - My jewellery was from Goldsmiths and my tiara was from Jon Richard at Debenhams (a lot better value than a bridal shop). I had two pairs of
shoes, the first were a pair of Dune heels and the second were some flat
gladiator sandals from Dorothy Perkins. Would definitely recommend
having two pairs of shoes as you really are on your feet all day.
Suits - The men's suits were hired from Slaters. We really liked the flexibility
of the shop as the men could go in for fittings and to collect their
suits as and when they were available. They also do good discounts for
hiring a few suits at a time.
Which of your suppliers would you recommend? - All of our suppliers were amazing! In particular I would recommend our
florist Joan Glass. She had so many brilliant ideas like corsages on
magnets so they don't put holes in the mothers outfits and herbs in the
bouquets so they smell amazing. Joan's email address is: juniperjoan@hotmail.co.uk
Honeymoon - We booked to go to the Lake District for two nights with our dog
for our mini moon. At the wedding one of our best men and his girlfriend
had extended our mini moon into a midi moon and paid for us to stay a
night where my parents had their honeymoon and a night where Chris's
mum and dad had their honeymoon. For our proper honeymoon we are going to Sydney in October which we are really excited about.
Favourite memory from the day - The whole day was amazing from start to finish. Becoming husband and
wife and having everyone we love in the same place was brilliant!
Advice to other couples - Be as organised as possible. By being organised you in turn reduce
the stress levels on your wedding day. We had planned the wedding really
early and so we were very relaxed on the day. I would also
recommend that all future brides join Pinterest and start a wedding
board as there are so many unusual and fantastic ideas on there.
