Helen & Dave were married at the amazing Langley Castle at the end of March. On the same date last year it was red hot, but that wasn't to be this year when it snowed as Helen & her bridesmaid Angela arrived at the castle. Luckily it brightened up for the drinks reception and photographs so we were able to make the most of the grounds.
Helen very kindly answered these questions for the blog:
Wedding date - 30th March 2013
Venue - Langley Castle
Dress - Dress was from Wedding Essentials in
Newcastle, designed by Maggie Sottero
Accessories - Shoes were from Debenhams and jewellery
was by one of my good friend's company Mrs M Handmade
Suits - Suits were from Waltons Menswear on
Grainger Street in Newcastle
Which of your suppliers would you recommend to other couples? - Fern Florists for the flowers, they
definitely understood our colours even when we were unable to
explain what we wanted properly! Caroline at Mrs M Handmade
for jewellery who allowed me to design my earrings myself and
made sense of my rubbish drawings to create exactly what i
wanted! Maureen at Wedding Chair Care who gave such personal
service we really trusted she knew what she was doing, the
quality of the covers were amazing and Diane at Cards By Di who
did all our invitations and stationery, which were beautiful
Honeymoon - We had a month travelling around
Australia, New Zealand and Dubai
Favourite memory from the day - Probably seeing everything come together,
you have so many meetings with different people in the run up
but you only ever see it all together the once, which makes
all the hard work worth it. Also how seamless and effortless
Langley Castle made the day, everything flowed together
perfectly, so much so you didn't have to think or worry about
anything, it all just happened perfectly
Advice to other couples - In the
planning stages I would say trust your instincts with
suppliers, and don't be scared to shop around to find
someone you really trust and are happy to work with,
remember you're paying them so they should do what you want
not what's easiest for them. As far as the day goes I'm sure
everyone says it but just relax and enjoy it because it
really does fly over, take a few seconds every now and then
to just to take it all in
