Laura & Mark's Wedding

Laura & Mark's wedding was at the end of September at the fantastic As You Like It in Jesmond. It's a really interesting, quirky venue full of character and really makes you think outside of the box as there's very little outdoor space. Laura & Mark wanted the photos to be relaxed and to capture the atmosphere of the day, and they were also keen to nip down to the Quayside for some photos after the meal. Dusk is a great time of day for this as the light was fading and the Tyne & Millennium Bridges were both illuminated which made for some great photos.

Laura very kindly answered these questions for the blog:

Wedding date - 29th September 2012

Venue - As You Like It, Jesmond

Dress - County Cream, Truro - Eternity Bride. The team were so patient and customer care was fab.

Accessories - Acccessorize (bargain!!), Nine West - I really wanted a shoe I could wear again and couldn't really see that with an ivory satin number so absolutely loved my purple shoes to match in with the wedding day theme! I have to admit they came off later so I could throw some shapes on the evening!!

Suits - Ted Baker. Snazzy and smart!

Which of your suppliers would you recommend? -  Bels Flowers and The Finishing Touch Company. All of our guests commented on the flowers and the little touches like the vases and letter box. The two companies were fantastic - so professional and talented. They worked as a team which made life easier.
.... and Simon Hudspeth Photography of course

Honeymoon - New York and Mexico. Two totally different holidays in one. New York was hectic and exciting. We saw so much and at times it was like reliving most of our favourite movies with the familiar destinations. We were so ready for Mexico which was a little bit of paradise. The hotel resort was fantastic and luxurious. Amazing memories!

Favourite memory from the day - Seeing all of our family and friends together in one place. We loved seeing everyone laughing, chatting and what we had hoped to achieve was a relaxed wedding without any pomp and it really was. We also didn't think we'd enjoy a day all about us as we are not those sort of people but we have to admit it was great!!

Advice to other couples - Enjoy the day as it goes so quick, get 10 mins together by yourselves just to take it all in. Smile, laugh, dance, enjoy!
