Victoria & Alan's wedding took place at the fantastic Matfen Hall in April. The staircase into the Grand Hall has to be one of the most spectacular entrances for brides to make, and Vicki looked beautiful. We had a few showers on the day but still managed to get outside for plenty of photos. Wedding date - 9th April 2012
Venue - Matfen Hall, Northumberland
Dress - After months of looking I finally stumbled across my Maggie Sottero dress in J & J Designs in Stoke-on-Trent whilst visiting some Uni friends.
Accessories - My shoes were from BHS and my jewellery was a gift from Alan.
Suits - The men wore dark grey tailcoat suits, ivory leaf waistcoats with grape coloured cravats, hired from Debenhams.
Which of your suppliers would you recommend? - We had a lot of helpful friends and family that supplied our cake and flowers. We were very happy with our chair covers from Leona at “Posh Chair Covers and Bows” which were specific ones to fit the chairs at Matfen. And obviously we would recommend you!!
Honeymoon - We started our slightly unconventional touring honeymoon with a few days in South West Scotland near Dumfries and then spent a relaxing week in a forest cabin in Yorkshire followed by an activity filled weekend near Sherwood forest.
Favourite memory from the day - It sounds cliché but our favourite bit would have to be seeing each other for the first time on the day as I walked down the Great Hall staircase surrounded by our smiling friends and family, and also stealing a few moments away together in between all the business and excitement.
Advice to other couples - All our guests seemed to love all the little details and thought we put into the day, I think personalising your day makes it more special. But most importantly... enjoy it! It whizzes by so quickly!
