Ruth & David's big day was our last in April, and it seemed as though all the April showers had been waiting for us! We were fortunate to dodge all the downpours during the day, and got some great atmospheric skies. Seaham Hall is a superb venue, and Ruth & David were great to work with. Ruth very kindly answered these questions for the blog:
Wedding date - 21st April 2012
Venue - Seaham Hall
Dress - It was from Wedding Essentials on Dean Street in Newcastle and was part of their own collection.
Accessories - So, jewellery first. The headband was from Queens and Bowl,
the earrings were from Magnolia in Eldon Square and the bracelet
belonged to my bridesmaid Cat's grandmother and was my 'something
borrowed'. The shoes are from Red Herring were found after months of
searching for some silver sequin pumps (I don't do heels!). They were
from eBay and were an absolute steal!
Suits - All the wedding party's suits were hired from Mia Sposa on Grainger Street in Newcastle.
Which of your suppliers would you recommend? - You guys! You were both so friendly and easy to work with, and you knew
exactly what we wanted and all for the right price! Also Victoria at Japonica Flowers in North
Shields - the flowers were amazing.
Honeymoon - We spent the week after the wedding in the Lake District Love Shack Hideaway in Cunsey, Cumbria. Remote, peaceful and beautiful, just
perfect to relax and unwind.
Favourite memory from the day - We have so many! I loved the time spent in the room in the morning with
my girls, David says it's my little cousin's Ella and Bella following me
around all day, and seeing me in my dress for the first time! For us
both it's sitting on the top table looking out on all our family and
friends enjoying themselves.
Advice to other couples - Make sure you have complete trust in all your suppliers. Colours, themes
and all that are great, but what you really need to be able to convey
to them is how you want your day to feel, how it looks will follow on
easily from that. Oh, and have a great team around you, everyone wants
to help, so let them, you'll be glad of it on the day when all you have
to do is ask and it's done!
