Rebecca & Mark's Wedding

Longhirst Hall is a venue which we've been keen to work at, so when Rebecca & Mark contacted us to check our availability we were thrilled that we were free! Since moving over from Cumbria in 2007 we've covered a lot of the great north east venues, but Longhirst Hall was one we hadn't been fortunate enough to have a booking for.

We met with Rebecca & Mark a few weeks before their big day for a pre-wedding photoshoot, during which we had a look around the grounds and also inside the venue for good photo locations. On the day we had great weather, so made the most of both!

Longhirst is a very atmospheric venue, particularly the Grand Hall in which Rebecca & Mark were married. We also had plenty of time for the photographs, which allowed us to capture more informal moments of the wedding guests enjoying themselves before they sat down for the wedding breakfast.

Here are some of our favourite photographs from the day:

By hanging the dress in front of the window we were able to show all the gorgeous detail in Rebecca's dress

Rebecca's mum and sisters were on hand to help Rebecca into her dress, along with plenty of giggling!

Whereas Mark chilled out with a beer - often how it goes before the ceremony!

The Grand Hall has really interesting lighting, with only a domed roof letting any natural light in. The light fell perfectly to illuminate Rebecca's dress but meant the other elements in the images kept all the atmosphere. This shot was taken from the circular balcony above the room.

The first toast of the day - the first of many!

Rebecca & Mark were happy for us to try some contemporary posed shots on the day, this is one of our favourite

Capturing a moment between the happy couple, these images mean so much to us as it's all about the emotion rather than staging a Hello Magazine photoshoot for us!

We're always pleased to get a shot like this - says it all really!
