Every now and then we photograph a wedding in a location so beautiful it takes our breath away. Ravenstonedale is on the eastern edge of Cumbria, and a village that we have driven past so many times, but never ventured into. The landscape is stunning, wild and rugged and truly unspoilt.
Cath & Matt were married in the village, at St. Oswald's Church. The church interior is rather unusual, with inward facing pews, and also a three-decker pulpit. We were pleased that the villagers kept up the age old village tradition of tying the church gates closed too!
We then moved on to The Fat Lamb Inn for the reception, which was held in a gorgeous marquee behind the Inn. Marquees are always great for photographs due to the abundance of natural light. The best man's speech was one of the funniest we've heard, as you can tell by the photo of Cath & Matt!
Here are some images from the day, we hope you like them...
Cath's gorgeous autumnal bouquet
We love Matt & Cath's expressions when they saw each other for the first time
Some of the most well-tied gates we've seen at a church!
We love the expression on the little girl's face as she meets a real life bride!
We couldn't resist this photo - they are actually sat on a bench, not hiding in the bushes!
Cath's uncle provided the transport in the form of his very shiny Austin Van
Such a gorgeous photo, love this one!
What a view! Need we say any more??
There was so much laughter and smiles at Cath & Matt's wedding, glad we captured it in the photos
Best man Mike with the build up to the funniest joke we've EVER heard in a speech...
Which led to this result! Email us and we'll tell you what the joke was!
We love to capture special moments such as this, often what you can't see tells more of a story
We had to make the most of this arbour in the garden - gorgeous!
We loved the light on this photo, we much prefer to work without flash as it captures the atmosphere so well :-)
